Motorsport Capri Promotional Items

The Mercury designed Motorsport Capri logo was featured on a few promotional items. The photos above feature the logo on a coffee mug and a T-shirt. A poster was also believed to be made. The items were distributed during the race weekend. Quite a bit of these items made there way to the dealerships that eventually received a car. The logo was also featured on a few dealer memos & some in-house paperwork. For those photos, please check out the Paperwork section on this site.

Lincoln/Mercury video clip of the 1985 Motorsport Capri. This clip was from a laser disc that was sent to dealers as a sales tool in Summer of '85.

Some other interesting items the cars were delivered to the dealerships with were a mini-Champaign bottle & checkered flags.

The checkered flags were used on some cars downtown at the race. These flags were mostly used on the parade & show cars. After the race, these were used on the cars at the dealerships.

The mini Champaign bottles were delivered with the car to the dealership as a thank you to the dealers who took part in the driveaway program.

Pictured above are jackets given away by Ford. They probably went to VIP's during race weekend.
