All 30 cars were supposed to be white. Since there was a shortage of white cars, the only color that would work with the decals would be silver. The car was shipped to Sesi Lincoln–Mercury in Ypsilanti, MI after the Grand Prix.
Stu Evans Lincoln-Mercury in Garden City, MI had a white car in their showroom. Chuck asked John Evans to find him a loaded silver one & he would buy it. The 2 dealerships then traded the silver GP4 for another car.
The cars owner personally picked up the car from the Sesi dealership the first week of July in 1985, Chuck did the dealer trade for his silver Capri.
The car has been with the original owner since.
